Google Maps display showing wreckage locations This site consists of a single small area of wreckage on the remote moorlands of East Ayrshire, south of Muirkirk. It is on the south-eastern slope of Stony Hill, about 400m from the summit at an altitude of about 500m. The site is about 15km south-east of the Douglas B-26 Invader & RN Grumman F4F Wildcat/Martlet wrecksites, also on the East Ayrshire moors, see my page about these two sites here.
There are not many identifiable remains, just segments of fragmented and twisted metal.
There is not much information about this air wreck on other websites but there are four photos of the wreckage on Flickr here.
