Richard wrote an article for the Journal of the British Astronomical Association in 2005 entitled: Henry McEwen of Glasgow: a forgotten astronomer: Cambuslang (1916-1955). The full article is below in 2 parts. Although his article contains numerous references to the personal life of Henry McEwen. Richard is keen to know more about his life in Cambuslang. I am interested in researching the life of a local man, Henry McEwen, who lived in
Cambuslang from 1916 till his death in 1955 (aged 90). He was a keen player of golf and
bowls (and an amateur astronomer). Although it is his astronomical career I am mostly
interested in, I also want to give as many personal details as I can.
His address was Rosebank, 13 Holmhill Avenue. Although I have a lot of detail about him
there are no surviving family members and no photos of him. I know what he looked like,
from the description of an old neighbour.
