     The details shown with this picture on the website are all wrong. The correct details are: At the very top left of this picture was St Charles' RC Chapel. Just below that you can see the co-op building and below that again were a few small tenement houses, now all demolished. Below the tenements (out of picture) is St Charles' school. On the bottom right was the Black Bull pub which later became the Newton Bar. The Newton terminus bus stop was further up on the right (opposite the chapel). The details shown are the wrong way round. In the late thirties, forties and early fifties I used that road almost every day.
