This is just by way of an interesting sidebar. I think the Hamilton Advertiser got the wrong family name –don’t know of any Benjamin.  I think his parents were actually Andrew and Mary Muir.

My mother has the medal of James Muir with that service number.  My father was James Muir Gebbie and his mother, Janet Neilson Muir, was James’ sister. They did live in Bank Street according to the 1911 census but at #32, of course they could have moved.
