I am e-mailing you a St Brides Primary photo of my class which has been in my
possession for some time now. Unfortunately I am not in it as I was probably off sick on
the day! A lot of the faces are familiar but names escape me. It would be great if some of
your viewers could fill in the gaps. I think the photo was take about 1952 as the kids
look about 9 0r 10 but this is purely a guess.
The teacher is Miss Colvin who became Mrs. Biggins and even later a Councillor with the
East Kilbride Development Corporation and later still with South Lanarkshire Council.
Back row - third from left is Michael Docherty. 6th from left is a boy who lived in the
Borgie Crescent house immediately adjacent to the playground? 9th from left is George
McGuire (I think), followed by William Nugent and the last boy on the back row is Michael
Emonds.
Middle row - The girl 4th from left is ? Connolly and the 6th is Cathy Reid. I see both
around Cambuslang from time to time.
Third Row - The only name I can give you is the girl 6th from left - Anne Rafferty who
also had a Greek surname like Athanassiou
The ruffians in the Front Row sitting are a complete mystery!
I would like to hear from any of the faces and it would be great if more faces could be
identified.
